Heritage Tug Boat Tours

The Auckland Heritage Festival has now finished for 2011. The next Auckland Heritage Festival will be 18 September 2012.

Take a cruise back in time, touring Auckland’s busy port aboard the historic William C Daldy steam tug - one of the port’s first tug boats, dating back to 1935.

The hour-long, family-friendly tours will cruise through the commercial wharves, providing a close-up view of Port operations, and will guided by a detailed heritage commentary. The trip will also include a special stop at the Auckland Harbour Bridge, where the William C Daldy proved its might salvaging a piece of the bridge during its construction in 1958.

You can also check out our free weekly boat tours by ferry.

Tours depart Princes Wharf (click here for a map). Please arrive at least 10 minutes prior to departure. The tour is free; however a gold coin donation to the William C Daldy Preservation Society is appreciated.

Visit the William C Daldy Restoration Society website here.
